STORAGE AND HANDLING
Care should be exercised in the handling of ABAMUNE. ABAMUNE tablets should not be opened or crushed. Store permitted between 20-25°C (68-77°F).
ABACAVIR DOSAGE
Abacavir should be taken orally at about the same time each day, either with or without food. Abacavir tablets should be swallowed whole with water. The tablets should not be opened, broken, or chewed. The dosage of abacavir is given according to age and body weight.
The tablet form of Abacavir is available in 300mg and the oral solution form is accessible in 20mg per ml.
There are several contraindications of abacavir that means we should not be used in case of severe hypersensitivity and if the patient is suffering from moderate to severe hepatic impairment.
