HOW SUPPLIED/STORAGE AND HANDLING:
Store in a refrigerator (2 – 8°C). Do not freeze.
DOSAGE
The dose for RA in combination with methotrexate is two-1000 mg IV infusions separated by 2 weeks (one course) every 24 weeks or based on
clinical evaluation, but not sooner than every 16 weeks. Methylprednisolone 100 mg IV or equivalent glucocorticoid is recommended 30 minutes prior to each infusion
SIDE EFFECTS
The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, weakness, edema, infection, and hair loss. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with hepatitis B..
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
- .Tumor lysis syndrome⎯administer aggressive intravenous hydration, anti-hyperuricemic agents, and monitor renal function .
- PML – monitor neurologic function. Discontinue Rituxan.
- Hepatitis B reactivation with fulminant hepatitis, sometimes fatal⎯screen high risk patients and monitor HBV carriers during and several
- months after therapy.
- Infections – withhold Rituxan and institute appropriate anti-infective therapy.
