What is Exemestane Tablets used for?

Exemestane is approved to treat: Breast cancer that is advanced. Breast cancer that is early stage and estrogen receptor positive. Exemestane is used in postmenopausal women who have already been treated with tamoxifen citrate.

The FDA has approved the use of exemestane for adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with estrogen-receptor (ER)-positive early breast cancer following two-to-three years of tamoxifen for a completion of five consecutive years of adjuvant hormonal therapy.
