HOW SUPPLIED/STORAGE AND HANDLING:
Care should be exercised in the handling of FASLODEX. FASLODEX Injections should not be opened or broken. Refrigerate, 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). In order to protect from the light, store in the original carton until the time of use.
SIDE EFFECTS
Most common adverse reactions include bone pain, hot flash, musculoskeletal pain, nausea, arthralgia, injection site pain, headache, pain in extremity, cough, vomiting, constipation, back pain, fatigue, anorexia, asthenia, and dyspnea.
DOSAGE
The recommended fulvestrant dose is 500 mg, should be administered intramuscularly into the buttocks slowly (1 to 2 minutes per injection) as two 5 mL injections, one in each buttock, on the days 1’st, 15’th, 29’th and once monthly thereafter.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
- The fulvestrant uses are normally contraindicated in patients with the known hypersensitivity to it or any of its existing components.
- The faslodex 250 injection should be used with caution in patients with thrombocytopenia, bleeding diathesis, or anticoagulant use.
- Caution should be imposed while administering faslodex at the dorsogluteal injection site due to the proximity of the underlying sciatic nerve.
- A fulvestrant 250 mg dose is recommended in patients with the moderate hepatic impairment.
- Women must be apprised of the potential hazard to the fetus and to avoid becoming pregnant while on Faslodex.
- Breastfeeding is restricted while on the therapy with fulvestrant 250 mg.
