Mechanism of Action of Dapagliflozin+Metformin

Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. It works by removing excess sugar from your body via your urine and lowering the sugar in your blood. Metformin primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and decreases intestinal absorption of glucose. It works mainly by inhibiting glucose production in the liver.

Uses of Dapagliflozin+Metformin

Dapagliflozin + Metformin is available as a tablet.  It treats type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and older. This combination of medicines is taken by mouth (orally).
